What to do when you go home after a Thigh Lift
What about bruising and swelling?
Bruising and swelling are to be expected, as well as a tight feeling in the thighs.
When will my stitches be removed?
Normally, your stitches will be removed within a week after surgery, although deeper sutures aren't removed until two or three weeks after.
What about things like bandages and support garments?
You may also wear a support garment for few weeks to reduce swelling.
Is infection a worry?
You will need to take antibiotics to prevent infection.
When can I become active again?
Most of the swelling will disappear after three weeks or so. You should avoid strenuous activity for a month or so.
When can I return to work?
Depending on the individual patient recovery times will vary. Most patients are able to go back to work two/three weeks after surgery.
What if something goes wrong?
Contact your surgeon immediately if you:
- Notice any signs of infection.
- Experience bleeding.
- Experience a sudden increase in pain.
Above all, get plenty of rest and allow your body to spend its energy on healing.
What about post-operative visits?
Four to five post-operative office visits are required.
