Will I feel sore after liposuction?
You should expect to feel some soreness; this will last about a week. Other than the slight discomfort, you should be able to resume most of your normal activities quickly. Bruising and swelling can be present for 2-4 weeks dependent upon the quantity of fat that is removed and the patient's own healing rate. Any discomfort or pain can be relieved by painkillers and gentle walking.
Will I have to wear a special garment?
A supportive elastic will be worn day and night for 3 weeks and after that for a further 3 weeks during the day.
What about scarring?
Scars will be small and will fade in time, and you will have follow-up visits in the months after surgery to check on your progress.
When can I return to normal activities?
The recovery varies with the extensiveness of the procedure, however, most patients return to normal activities within days as compared with the weeks normally anticipated with other fat removal systems.

Within your level of comfort, you may exercise lightly after one week.

What if something goes wrong?
Contact your surgeon immediately if you:
- Experience shortness of breath, chest pains or unusual heart beats.
- Notice any signs of infection.
- Experience bleeding.
- Experience a sudden increase in pain.
