Lip Enhancement

Whenever we are talking to someone, either consciously or sub-consciously we notice and evaluate their lips. Therefore, the lips are a very important feature of the face. Unfortunately, one of the effects of human ageing is atrophy of facial fat, including the lips. Although, of course, the ageing process will continue, for anyone who desires larger or fuller lips, Lip Enhancement can provide an answer. The procedure to enlarge lips can also reduce the fine lines and wrinkles above the top lip, flaws often referred to as ‘smoker’s lines’.

How does it work?

A natural or synthetic biocompatible material, or the patient's own fat, is injected or implanted in the lips. One injection is usually sufficient to produce the desired result, which may be temporary, depending on the material used. Proper placement of the injected material is important. The injected material eventually becomes integrated with the natural tissues.

What areas can be treated?

Both the upper and lower lips can be treated with Lip Enhancement.

How long does it last?

Usually 4-6 months, depending on the filler substance used.

Are there any side effects?

There may be some pain on initial injection or incision. But this can usually be mitigated by using a topical anaesthetic, ensuring that the treatment is extremely comfortable and tolerable, allowing you to fully enjoy the results without pain.
