What are the risks associated with Labial Reduction?
Like all surgical procedures, with labial reduction surgery there is always a possibility of complications. Although these complications are extremely rare, they can include:
- Infection.
- Adverse reaction to anaesthesia.
- Excessive bleeding.
- Delayed wound healing.
- Scarring.
- Unsatisfactory results.
- The need for second or sometimes third procedures.
Problems with healing, such as incision separation, under or over correction, scarring and/or pain following the surgery, are also rare risks. However, they can occur, as with any vaginal surgery, and may require further surgery or revision.
