What are the risks associated with Buttock Lift Surgery?
Like all surgical procedures, with buttock lift surgery there is always a possibility of complications. Although these complications are extremely rare, they can include:
- Infection.
- Adverse reaction to anaesthesia.
- Unsatisfactory results.
- Scarring.
- Infection.
- Blood or fluid collection.
- The need for second or sometimes third procedures.
As well as the above, risks such as bleeding, delayed healing, DVT and alteration in sensitivity and scarring will all be discussed openly at consultation.
What if I am a smoker?
Smokers may be precluded from having surgery until they cease or substantially reduce their daily cigarette intake. This is because of the additional healing and infection risks experienced with patients who smoke.
Will I have scarring?
Scarring can occur and the scar is located between the buttock cheeks. Scars however do fade with time but the severity of the scar will depend on the individual.
