Paul E. Banwell BSc(Hons) MB BS FRCS(Eng) FRCS(Plast) is a British-trained Consultant Plastic & Cosmetic Surgeon. He divides his time between NHS work and private practice. In the he NHS, he works at the internationally-known Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead (this is the home of the so-called ‘Guinea Pig Club’ and the father of Plastic Surgery Sir Archibald McIndoe) . Listed on the Specialist Register of the GMC in Plastic Surgery, Mr. Banwell is also a full member with The British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS), The British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAPRAS), and a member of The International Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ISAPS).
Paul also has a thriving, modern cosmetic surgery private practice focusing on cosmetic surgery of the breast, body and face. Additionally his acclaimed practice offers a complete range of non-surgical solutions such as Botox, dermal fillers, chemical peels, dermaroller and tailored skin care programmes using Rationale Skincare from Australia.
Mr Banwell’s offers cosmetic surgery in Brighton, Tunbridge Wells, Worthing and East Grinstead covering Kent, East Sussex and West Sussex in the South East and along the South Coast but he also attracts many patients from London, The Channel Islands and Europe. Paul knows that the Consultation is one of the most important aspects of the cosmetic surgery pathway so he believes in an unhurried, honest and open approach. This caring attitude coupled with his attention to detail and natural looking results has meant Paul’s skill’s are constantly in demand.
Education and Training
Mr Banwell graduated in 1992 (MB BS) in medicine and surgery, and continued his surgical training in London to become a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS) in 1996.
His specialist training in Plastic Surgery took place in London (St. Georges, Roehampton & The Royal Marsden), Oxford, Salisbury and Stoke Mandeville culminating in passing the Plastic Surgery Specialist Fellowship - FRCS (Plast) - of the Royal College of Surgeons.
Paul furthermore was a Senior Fellow at the famed London Royal Marsden Hospital, where he specialised in reconstruction after skin and soft tissues cancers as well as the head, neck, and breast regions. Abroad, he achieved greater exposure as a British Association of Plastic Surgeons' Traveling Fellow in Australia, for reconstructive microsurgery, skin cancer, and cosmetic surgery.
Paul has developed an international reputation in the fields of wound healing and skin cancer and lectures worldwide on these subjects. He has an extensive research portfolio and has published two books and over 50 papers, book chapters and monographs. He is a Visiting Professor of Plastic Surgery to Harvard Medical School and has won multiple teaching accolades within Oxford University.
During his time in the UK and abroad (North America, Europe and Australia), he has had extensive exposure and training in aesthetic surgical practice and specialises in breast augmentation, labiiaplasty and body contouring. He also lectures on non-surgical rejuvenation, skin health and cosmeceuticals. He is a Faculty member of Cosmetic Courses, the premier UK Cosmetic training centre and is a Medical Advisor to various companies.

Although Paul tries to avoid media interviews, Paul has appeared in numerous magazines and has featured on BBC1, ITV, Channel 4 and Radio 4 and he is frequently contacted for expert comment on skin cancer issues, skin health, anti-ageing and all aspects of cosmetic surgery
