James Murphy MB ChB ChM FRCS (Plast) is a highly skilled and qualified plastic and cosmetic surgeon that provides high quality care in the Manchester area. Mr. Murphy operates a plastic and cosmetic surgery practice that is professional and comprehensive, yet provides a personal service to all his patients.
He is a fully accredited and highly qualified plastic surgeon and is a registered specialist for plastic surgery in the General Medical Council (GMC). Mr. Murphy is currently a NHS Consultant at the Christie Hospital located in Didsbury, Manchester and consults and performs operations at the Spire Hospital Manchester in Whalley Range.
In 1992, Mr. Murphy graduated from medical school and began his training in surgery. After begin recognized for completing his general surgical training, he began a fellowship at the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1996. After completion of his fellowship, he began his training at prestigious plastic surgery units, where he pursued his education in both the United Kingdom and abroad in Australasia and the United States of America. In the United Kingdom, he completed training in London, Oxford, Salisbury, and Stoke Mandeville.
In 2001, Mr. Murphy was awarded a higher level postgraduate degree, a Master of Surgery (ChM), for the research he conducted at the Stoke Mandeville Hospital in Buckinghamshire. In 2002, he was granted the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Plastic Surgery (FRCS (Plast)).
Throughout his career, Mr. Murphy has published comprehensive publications within the plastic surgery literature and he is also actively involved internationally and often participates in a variety of plastic surgery conferences around the world. He is also an active participate within the academic arena and provides instruction at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. At the undergraduate level, he teaches medical students and at the postgraduate level he teachers trainees in the plastic surgery field.
